  Guest Speaker Janice L. Mathis

ATLANTA –The Evangelism Team at Bouldercrest Church of Christ invites the community to its monthly Not By Bread Alone business breakfast forum on Feb. 9, 7 a.m., 2727 Bouldercrest Road, Atlanta.

The forum is aimed educating entrepreneurs, professionals and consumers on various issues.

The theme for the February business breakfast is “Mergers and Acquisitions.” The meeting will feature Attorney Janice L. Mathis, vice president of the Citizenship Education Fund, a charitable research and education organization based in Chicago. Mathis is responsible for legal affairs and programs. The Citizenship Education Fund, a research and education organization, specializes in equal opportunities, equitable education opportunities and corporate responsibility.

“Black businesses are missing out on new customers, contracts and profits,” said Mathis. “We limit our growth potential by failing to consider merging with or acquiring similar firms to increase scale, balance sheet strength and attractiveness to potential customers. If it’s good enough for Daimeler Chrysler, AOL/Time Warner and AT&T/BellSouth, perhaps we should try it, too. A good lawyer and CPA can show you how to acquire and merge without losing control or your identity.”

To attend the forum, RSVP by Feb. 7: 404-622-9935. The breakfast is free to the general public and $5 to members.
